How do you prepare for things? You might study, calm your nerves or put on earphones to focus.

Bacari Middleton, varsity running back, sits in the locker room to prepare each week’s big game. Every Friday, Bacari does anything he needs to do to get in the right mind set to win.

“It’s important to get in the right mind set because you wouldn’t want anything throwing you off on game day,” Middleton said.

Pressure to win can cause nervousness for some people. Others people focus on what they need to do instead of focusing on things that could go wrong.

“I sit down at my locker, put my headphones in and think about what my role is and what I have to do to execute my part,” Bacari said.

With the season ahead of them, varsity prepares their mind each week with a motto: no regrets.

“When we get out there, the less regret you have, the more productive you are,” Bacari said. “The team wants to leave everything on the field and do our best.”
