After the Cavelier and Celtics trade, people have been wondering if Kyrie is capable of holding his own in a brand new team. People are all over the place about his decision to leave and if he is what the Celtics need to finally have a shot at the NBA Finals. The season just started and people are anxious to see him play with his new teammates.
Unfortunately for Kyrie, he lost his first game against his former team. Though he lost by only three points, it was a important game as it showed if he can hold his own without LeBron. After that loss, people had questions. However, now his team is in second place in their conference with a 5-2 record which is really something compared to the Cavs record of 3-5 and a tenth place position.
Kyrie is so far averaging 21 points per game which is four less points than what he averaged last year during the regular season; but the season is just starting so there's much to see. Kyrie and his teammates are also doing astonishingly well with the loss of one of their star players, Gordon Hayward, as many thought he would be a reason for the celtics downfall. But time and time again they show how strong and effective they are as a team, and how they'll prove critics time after time.
Though he is doing pretty well so far, it is only the beginning and he's got a long road ahead. He's still has a lot to prove in the next coming months in becoming the player he wants to become and to show that he doesn't need the help of LeBron to be great. So far… it's working out for him.
