“Red leather, yellow leather,” Mr. Eugia exclaims as he helps his Theater 1 class with vocal warm ups.

Mr. Eugia, a theater teacher at GPHS, still pursues his passions for acting outside of his regular job during the school day. He does small shows in the area in an attempt to be in bigger shows and get connections.

“With such a tight schedule being a teacher, it is hard to find times to act at times,” Eguia said. “I’ve been doing theater since high school and I love being in shows so it is something I try and find time for.

Mr. Eugia is also a coach for the school’s speech team that has tournaments on Saturday mornings extending late into the night. Even then, he still finds time to write plays or short stories to be performed.

“I have written ever since college and I have even had a couple of my works produced,” Eugia said.

Between commercials, plays and spoofs of scary movies, Eugia has taken an interest in a variety of different types of acting.

“I would love to do more film,” Eugia said. “I have been in a few short films, however it can be overwhelming because of scheduling and demand. My first priority is being here with students.”
