More than 100 students showed up for soccer tryouts at the Gopher Bowl on Monday, November 27.

“There were a lot of talented players who came out,” said Coach Palma.

Players took turns shooting, doing skills drills and practicing in attacking positions.

“Tryouts were hard but a lot of fun,” junior Roberto Mendez said. “I liked getting to go out and compete with the rest of the guys trying out.”

As the week continued players played scrimmages on the remaining days to show coaches their full potential.

“You have to show the coaches what you have and give it 100% during tryouts to make the best impression,” junior Michael Halfaker said.

The results had coaches feeling good about the upcoming season.

“We are hoping to win our first few scrimmages and make a name ourselves,” Coach Danford said. “Whenever it’s time to play district, we will be prepared for anything.”

The 2018 JV, JV2 and Varsity teams are below.
