As it gets colder outside and football season is coming to an end, a new season is beginning - wrestling season.
“Wrestling season is here and I’ve never been more ready,”senior captain Jose Ruiz said.

Despite the sports unpopularity recognition, the people who do wrestle find this time of the year very exciting.
Jose Ruiz, the team captain, is looking forward to getting payback on the rival wrestling team, South Grand Prairie High.
“I got something for them this year, and it ain’t gonna be pretty,” Ruiz said.
The rival goes way back to since South Grand Prairie was built. Now, each year the teams squares off in “dual” against each other in February. Since it’s Ruiz’s senior year, he’s determined to do great things and make his mark before he leaves.
“It’s my senior year and my only goal is to go to state,” Ruiz said. “It’s not an option to go and nobody’s going to stop me.”
