This month, Student Council (StuCo) is hosting “Sock it to Coldness,” a sock donation drive for the homeless and less fortunate.
“The winter months and holidays are hard for some people,” senior Brianna Washington said. “We wanted to find a way to help out.”
Now until Dec. 15, students and staff can bring socks and hang them on the Christmas tree in the front lobby.
“It’s a great and easy way to give back. Plus, it is a fun way to decorate the school around the holidays,” Washington said.
The purpose of StuCo is to develop good citizenship and serve the school and community. The group works to conduct service related projects, promote good relations though out the school and promote school spirit.
“StuCo is important not only to this school, but to our community,” senior Zoe Jimenez said. “I am glad I get to be a part of it.”
