As November ends and December approaches, so does the spirit and jolliness of those who celebrate the winter holidays. At Grand Prairie High School, students in choir and band are preparing to show their spirit by filling the seats of Chambers and playing songs with messages of hope and joy.
Students are anticipating and thrilled to see the joy of the audience arise from their productions. Band will show their imminent skills at a great performance on Tuesday, December 5 featuring symphonic band, jazz band, wind ensemble, winter guard, and a special rendition of the Fight Song Finale with Mr. Wold conducting.
“I can’t wait to show the audience band’s application and lift them up with Christmas spirit for the holidays," junior band student Carlos Almaraz Gomez said.
In the school halls and the classrooms, students chatter of a show as if awaiting the chance to see the performances and show off Grand Prairie High School to the community.
“It’s a good feeling knowing that students get to bring spirit to the school and community,” junior show choir member Emily Hernandez said.
The upcoming choir concert on December 14 will feature a more lyrical and emotional performance with multiple Christmas songs for the jolly-filled audience.
“As people like our families come to see us and get ready to celebrate this joyous season, we hope to give them a happy experience," Hernandez said. “All we want is to come together and for the audience to feel our passion and the message through our songs.”
