Varsity Scores District Champ Title and Spot in Playoffs

The varsity soccer team was named 7-6A District Champs and clinched a spot in play-offs after Tuesday’s game against the Irving High School Tigers.
“I really want to thank our coaches,” senior Alejandro Medina said. “Coach Cruz, Coach Bonato and Coach Danford are a big reason why we are where we are now.”
Even through a tough season with difficult teams, the varsity team managed to stay on top. The boys’ believe in each other and have worked hard to make it this far.
“We deserve this,” junior Roberto Mendez said. “We have worked hard, kept up our grades and gave it everything on the field.”
Additionally, the soccer boys have dedicated their program to Mr. Arendse. He supported the program and they are playing to make him proud.
“We play games in honor of Mr. A because he really liked this program” Medina said. “I don’t know who the hardest team to beat will be, but I do know we will leave it all out on the field for him.
This is the second time in four years that varsity has made it this far. They will play Killeen Shoemaker Thursday, March 29 or Friday, March 30. Location and time has not been announced.
