Fortnite Becomes Overnight Sensation

Fornite, a virtual survival game set on contemporary Earth, has taken over the world. Almost everyone is playing the game including celebrities like Drake, Juju Smith, Travis Scott, are playing it and so are students.

In the game, up to four players cooperate on various missions while killing zombies. Guns are very important in Fortnite. Most of the time, you win or lose because of the guns you choose.

“My favorite weapon would have to be a Golden Sniper or Gold Scar,” said freshman Matthew Villagomez.

Some guns are better than others.

“My least favorite gun would have to be a common pistol,” senior Ignacio Gomez said. “It’s so useless I’d rather have a crossbow to shoot close range than that.”

Some people like the game so much, they buy a battle pass, which is $10.

“I bought this season battle pass but not the other,” Gomez said. “I play it so much I thought it would be worth it.”

Fornite blew up in about two months, and it’s one of the most popular games.

“I started playing it before Christmas break right before it blew up,” Villagomez said. “Now I’m pretty good at it, especially at sniping.”

The game has taken over the internet and doesn’t show signs of slowing down.

“The game is so fun and I waste a lot of time playing it,” Gomez said. “Hopefully it is still popular this summer since then I will have more time to play.”
