Nike has made customers angry with their new ad

Nike has sparked controversy with making Colin Kaepernick the head of a new campaign with the slogan, “Believe in something. Even if it means sacrificing everything,” and many people were tweeting about how they will be boycotting by never buying Nikes or by burning Nikes.

What the boycotters are not understanding is that the reasons why the football players are kneeling is to bring awareness to police brutality and the justice system. Not to disrespect the military, but to bring awareness and a former marine recommended Colin to kneel.

“I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for country that oppresses black people and people of color,” Kaepernick said.

Colin put his job on the line by kneeling during the National Anthem in a preseason game just to speak out on police brutality. In doing so, he hasn’t had a NFL contract in 553 days.

He also spoke out on interviews and made multiple comments as to why he believes he is right, even after the amount of backlash he received.

In response to this, people have been burning their Nike appeal due to fact that they believe the protesters are disrespecting the flag. Even Donald Trump took his thoughts on Twitter saying “Just like the NFL, whose ratings have gone WAY DOWN, Nike is getting absolutely killed with anger and boycotts. I wonder if they have any idea that it would be this way? As far as the NFL is concerned, I just find it hard to watch, and always will, until they stand for the FLAG!”

In conclusion, people shouldn't be boycotting Nike for supporting Colin, and Colin shouldn’t be out of a contract for standing up for what he believes.
