Students are getting ready for their annual Homecoming week full of events, leading up to the main event on Friday.
“I feel like homecoming is more exciting for seniors rather than for any other underclassmen because it’s our senior year and it’s a chance to create some of our last memories together,” senior Cristina Gallegos said.

This year, an old tradition will be coming back to life, which is The Homecoming Dance.
“The homecoming dance is an old tradition that existed a long time ago in our school, but has not been happening for a while now. This year it will be coming back and will be under trial to see how well it works with this generation,” student council President J’nya Thompson said. .
Starting Monday, dress up days are as followed:
Monday - America
Tuesday - Twin Day
Wednesday - Class Colors
Thursday - Jersey Day
Friday - Dress Your Best
The homecoming parade will be Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. And will run from our school’s track field to downtown Grand Prairie and back.
“During the parade anyone can pretty much participate from the schools band, drill team, cheerleaders, football team, choir, mariachi and of course the homecoming court,” Thompson said.
Friday night will be the night will be the night seniors have been waiting for - the game and announcement of this year’s Homecoming King and Queen.
“I guess you can say it has become part of the homecoming tradition to always announce the King and Queen during the football game half-time show. This friday will definitely be a memorable night senior students won’t forget’, Thompson said.
