After complaints from local residents, the district has put a new policy in place that allows students to park on campus for free.
“The new policy only requires sa school I.D,” Associate Principal Katie Eisel said. “They no longer have to pay the $20 fee.”
Most students parked in neighborhoods to avoid having to show a license or pay the fee, but residents were bothered by the students parking on their property and covering their driveways.
Some residents even reported this incident to the Grand Prairie police.
“A lot of students drive to school and need to have a place to park without any problems,” senior Josue Rodriguez said. “Now we don’t have to walk far and worry about parking.”
