The boys basketball season started Nov. 5th when they played Sam Houston and walked on the court ready for blood.

“We played at Sam Houston High School. Unfortunately we lost, but I know we tried our best” freshman Marvin Verser said.

Grand Prairie High school boys prepare each week in order to get the results they want.

“We practice everyday of the week, running drills, exercising, and we even had study hall so we can make sure we’re able to play. Basketball is a sport we love but it’s our responsibility to make sure we get our education” Marvin Said.

Coaches are also making sure that each player is in shape. They take the time to influence their players to keep their grades up and practice and practice till they can’t even stand anymore. They want their guys in shape so they can have the victory. The support of the fans is also important.

“We had some people come out and support that was really nice and plus we always have our coaches are always on the sideline cheering us on. I do think the school could step it up and really support the basketball organization we don’t t have as much events or pep rallies for basketball, so a change for once will be nice and bring us more motivation” Marvin said. “We May have lost the first one, but I know who we are and we got a hell of a season ahead of us” Marvin said.

Gp's boys basketball team and the head coaches stand together and bow their heads for the National Anthem to prepare themselves for their first game of the season.
